We wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our two new conductors for the Plain City Pops Orchestra. Please welcome to the podium...
Tricia Marotz
A Utah State University graduate, Tricia Marotz has been teaching private lessons for over 20 years. She teaches violin, viola, cello and upright bass. She recently moved back to Utah from Alabama where she was the Director of the Wiregrass Youth Orchestra and the Concert Master of the Tri-State Community Orchestra. She served on the executive board of the Alabama Orchestra Association (AOA) as the treasurer. She enjoys playing in pit orchestras and other ensembles, and joined the Plain City Pops Orchestra for the first time last year.
Alaina Petersen
Alaina has been a member of the Plain City Orchestra for several years, and is currently attending Weber State University for Interdisciplinary Studies, where she is the conductor for the String Project. Alaina has been playing the viola for 9 years, and she currently teaches violin and viola lessons. She is very excited to take the podium and create fun music with all of us.
We'll have the opportunity to meet our new conductors during our first meeting on June 18th at 7:00pm at the LDS Church by the Town Square (by America First CU in Plain City). No need to bring your instruments to this meeting, as we will just get to know each other and pick up our new music.
